Pakistan Bioethics Conference: Contextual Bioethics Education – Dialogues for Action is scheduled for February 23 – 24, 2024, at Aga Khan University in Pakistan. Organized by the Department of Anesthesiology in collaboration with the Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University, and supported by the NIH-Fogarty Grant, this conference marks a significant initiative in the realm of bioethics education. The call for abstracts is now open, inviting submissions of 300 words that align with the themes of Impact, Quality, Relevance, and/or Access to Bioethics Education in Pakistan. Additionally, an essay competition on the topic “Bioethics Education in Pakistan – Why, What, How” is also accepting entries, with a word limit of 1000 words.
The submission deadline is December 31, 2023.
The conference aims to highlight key aspects of bioethics education, including exploring the current landscape and identifying gaps, understanding the importance of context in bioethics education, advocating for the inclusion of bioethics curricula in medical education across Pakistan, and fostering dialogues on bioethics issues specifically relevant to the region.
